About Encaustic Tiles

Invoke some history into your project!  Our Encaustic Tiles are meticulously and authentically handmade in the same way artisans have done, for over a hundred years.  The French are believed to have initiated the technology behind these beautiful tiles and accordingly, many magnificent buildings and homes in France and subsequently colonised countries like Vietnam have encaustic tiles throughout.  Simply described, encaustic tiles are painted, pressed cement tiles, each one made in moulds. After they are made, the tiles are dried and the end product is a beautiful matte finish which feels amazing underfoot. Our high quality Encaustic Tiles are made in a factory in Vietnam where workers enjoy quality conditions, and are most commonly used on floors but are equally wonderful on walls or as features. Once laid these tiles are extremely durable. We have many different designs in stock in Brisbane and we are able to ship these all over Australia.  Alternatively, if you have a particular pattern, design, colour or even an image in mind, we are able to work with our supplier’s artists to achieve the ultimate end result.
